Precut is organized around projects. Each project contains your script, your footages, and all the settings for your video.
Back to Precut Guide
Click New Project on the home screen. Give it a name and you're in.
To use your footages in Precut, you need to connect a folder on your computer to your project.
Click the Connect folder button in the left sidebar and select an empty folder on your computer. Precut will automatically create two subfolders inside:
footages/ — drop all your video and audio files herecaches/ — lightweight versions of your files created by Precut, don't touch this one<aside> ⚠️
If you are using Precut on Chrome, you will need to grant Chrome permission to save changes to your project folder. A permission prompt will appear the first time you connect your folder — click Allow to enable it.

Once your folder is connected, start adding your video and audio files to the footages/ folder. Precut will automatically detect them, transcribe them, and make them available in your script.
You can organize your footages folder however you like — Precut will scan all subfolders automatically.

You can add as many files as you want — Precut handles them all.
