Once Precut has generated your export files, here's how to open them in your editing software.
Back to Precut Guide
DaVinci Resolve
- Open DaVinci Resolve and open or create a project
- Go to File → Import → Timeline
- Select your
.fcpxml file and click Open
- Leave the import settings as default and click OK
- A window will appear saying that some clips could not be found — click Yes to browse for them
- Navigate to your
footages/ folder and click Open — Resolve will scan and relink all clips automatically
- If some clips are still missing and appear in red on the timeline, go to the Edit page and drag and drop your
footages/ folder directly into the Master bin — Resolve will automatically relink the missing clips
Adobe Premiere
- Open Adobe Premiere and your project
- Go to File → Import and select your
.xml file
- A Link Media window will pop up — this is normal, Premiere just needs you to locate your files
- Click Locate, navigate to your
footages/ folder and click OK
- Premiere will automatically find and link all matching files
- Your timeline will appear as a new Sequence in your Project panel
Final Cut Pro
- Open Final Cut Pro and open your Library
