Once Precut has generated your export files, here's how to open them in your editing software.

Back to Precut Guide

  1. Open DaVinci Resolve and open or create a project
  2. Go to File → Import → Timeline
  3. Select your .fcpxml file and click Open
  4. Leave the import settings as default and click OK
  5. A window will appear saying that some clips could not be found — click Yes to browse for them
  6. Navigate to your footages/ folder and click Open — Resolve will scan and relink all clips automatically
  7. If some clips are still missing and appear in red on the timeline, go to the Edit page and drag and drop your footages/ folder directly into the Master bin — Resolve will automatically relink the missing clips

Adobe Premiere

  1. Open Adobe Premiere and your project
  2. Go to File → Import and select your .xml file

  5. Premiere will automatically find and link all matching files
